Melissa Rodden Mays has been practicing law for over twenty years and focuses her practice on assisting families, counseling aging clients and special needs families regarding asset protection, guardianship, public benefits, probate and estate planning and administration. 
 
Ms. Mays formerly worked as an attorney with the UAW Legal Services Plan for nearly sixteen years, assisting UAW members and their families with focus areas in probate, guardianship, estate planning and family law.   It was a great honor for her because she comes from a proud union family of four generations of UAW members.  She was also the Treasurer of AFSCME Local 3357 for six years, a union for legal plan attorneys.
 
Prior to that, she was an attorney with the Kentucky Protection and Advocacy Division for nearly four years, focusing on the legal needs of persons with mental and physical disabilities across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
 
Ms. Mays is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association's Elder Law and Probate and Trust Sections,  and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc.   She is a member of the the Kentucky Guardianship Association (KGA) and of the Advisory Board of the Kentucky Protection and Advocacy of Persons with Mental Illness (PAIMI).  She is also accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to assist veterans with claims filing and appeals.
 
Melissa Rodden Mays is a Louisville based attorney licensed in Kentucky and Indiana.  She is a graduate of Berea College and of the University of Kentucky, College of Law.
