Melissa Rodden Mays has been practicing law for twenty years and focuses her practice on counseling aging clients and special needs families regarding asset protection, guardianship, public benefits, probate and estate planning and administration.

Ms. Mays formerly worked as an attorney with the UAW Legal Services Plan for nearly sixteen years, assisting UAW members and their families with focus areas in probate, guardianship, estate planning and family law.

It was a great honor for her because she comes from a proud union family of four generations of UAW members.  She was also the Treasurer of AFSCME Local 3357 for six years, a union for legal plan attorneys.

Prior to that, she was an attorney with the Kentucky Protection and Advocacy Division for nearly four years, focusing on the legal needs of persons with mental and physical disabilities.

Ms. Mays is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association's Elder Law and Probate and Trust Sections, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc., and Lawyers with Purpose.   She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Kentucky Guardianship Association (KGA) and of the Kentucky Protection and Advocacy of Persons with Mental Illness (PAIMI).  She is also accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to assist veterans with claims filing and appeals.

She is married with three children, two dogs and a horse.   When not assisting clients or hanging out with family, she enjoys doing outreach activities with her church, Trinity World Outreach Center, located in Fern Creek.

Melissa Rodden Mays is a Louisville based attorney licensed in Kentucky and Indiana.  She is a graduate of Berea College and of the University of Kentucky, College of Law.
